Finally Summer

For better or worse, this school year is over! I really dont wanna think about it anymore... I have an internship to do, but otherwise, I've got more time for making earrings!
Also, I'm taking open-ended commission requests! If you want to request custom orders, please keep in mind that commissions start at $35 USD and up depending on complexity of the request. Please private message me at my etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/KittyWorksho… if you want to request anything. Of course, i'll be more likely to take requests i'm interested in making versus ones i have no interest in. I'll also be only taking a few first, since I've never done open ended commissions before.
umm what else? I'm gonna be making some more unique pieces again hopefully. watch out for them on my etsy page and here on deviantart!
my life unrelated to art and earrings: I GOT A BOYFRIEND!! yeah i'm excited and i wanna brag about him to the world! he's the most perfect and sweetest and most romantic guy! and we have so much in common! besides internship and earrings, i'm gonna be spending as much time as possible with him!

New Year, Earrings and School?

Happy New Year!
So the new quarter of college as started. things are starting to get busy again, and once again, I find myself working myself to the ground @@
I've got my black cat earrings slowly going on sale periodically www.etsy.com/listing/118714819…
and I've got my mind set on a few other designs, but WHERE IS THE TIME MAHN?! *shakes fist at schoolwork and internship*
also, in unrelated news: feeling emotionally drained cuz real life sucks right now. i'm tired all the time even if i get enough sleep, and just overall deflated.

Ok! big update, so making a new journal! I updated the FAQ to reflect the new stuff, but here are the changes in a nutshell:
I will be opening orders again in ABOUT 3 days, give or take (really, please follow me on twitter @TheAzuraNet for exact time announcements). The number of order slots will be higher than the previous few order periods because I've gotten some help making these! doesn't mean you should slack off ordering them! they may still sell out in a few hours! please be at this link www.etsy.com/listing/110390520… at the time I announce on twitter. As soon as the "add to cart" button appears, orders are open!
Also, I've recently ordered some 24k gold plated earring posts, so all of the earrings will be 24k gold posts! I think that's safe for most hypoallergenic people, right?
there will be a slight hike in domestic shipping because there will now be tracking for every domestic order! still can't do that for international orders, unfortunately because it's so much more expensive.
umm i think that's all. i'll update this journal if I think of anything. also, remember: twitter!

Hello again! Thank you everyone that entered my contest! I received many entries, and I'm truly grateful to all the people who entered! You are all such talented artists!
However, there can be only one winner! It was really hard to decide, so I had a friend who also knows my character very well be a second opinion! The entry we finally decided on that captured the essence of Kitty Azura best is...(drumroll please!)...............

Contest anyone?

My birthday is coming up in less than a month. I'm thinking of hosting a contest with the prize being a free pair of my popular Clinging Black Cat earrings fav.me/d5fx20x . Something special, ya know?
To enter, I want people to draw me a picture of my Original Character. This account is named after her, actually. Kitty Azura. I've never uploaded a picture of her before because I'm not really good at drawing...
Here's a pic I drew with pencil a LONG time ago i.imgur.com/S8CMa.jpg of her. the colors are added in with paint program >.< . She is a white kitten with beautiful white wings, big azure blue eyes and a small bright blue diamond-shaped gem embedded into the center of her forehead. and she has thick golden bangles around her 4 ankles (are those things called ankles on cats?) and tail. (yes yes i know the name isn't really original, but i was like 4 years old when i named her, so sue me >"<)
She has magical powers and commands the elements fire and air.
Details of the contest:
-Draw/paint/computerize/etc. a picture (any media is fine) of Kitty. I'm going for a cute yet majestic feel to the picture.
-Please dont submit humanoid version of her. Cat bodies only
-send it to me directly via email at kittyfamily_777@hotmail.com as an image file. Put in the subject "Kitty Azura Contest"
-One entry per person please!
-Please enter even if you think you can't draw! If I get enough amateur drawing entries i may choose one as second place for best effort and concept!
-I will ship to just about anywhere in the world besides umm Cuba, North Korea, and Sudan, so anyone can enter from anywhere!
-Submission deadline will be on my birthday November 19th at 11:59 pm PDT
I will create a photobucket album for all the entries and the link will be here when that does go up!
